SOOMUS USER GUIDE

How to use SOOMUS? Check below step by step.

How to Add Watermark and Use Pointer

While you are in a virtual meeting or recording a video in SOOMUS, you can either use the app’s default watermark, or upload a custom one. Furthermore, you can even change the position of the watermark to any of the four corners of the Display window.

In addition, when you are in configuration mode or in an ongoing conference session, you can use the built-in ‘Pointer’ tool to annotate the important stuff that is visible on the screen. SOOMUS even allows you to configure whether the annotations would remain visible, or get disappeared as soon as you release the mouse button.

You can learn all this by following the instructions given in the sections covered below:

Add and Manage Watermark

Step 1: Launch SOOMUS and Get to Editing Mode

Download SOOMUS from its official website (https://soom.us/), and install the app on your PC. Once done, initialize SOOMUS, and click Create new video from the launching box to get to the editing mode.

Step 2: Specify Watermark Position

From the lower-right corner of the Display window, click Watermark. When the small panel opens up, ensure that the Def radio button next to the Watermark label is selected, and that the SOOM.US watermark is present at the upper-left corner of the window. Now, click any of the available icons next to the Position label to change the location of the default watermark.

Note: The Def radio button represents Default that tells that the default watermark is currently being used in the presentation.

Step 3: Add a Custom Watermark

Select the Customize radio button next to the Watermark label, and select and upload a custom image that you want to use as the watermark. After uploading, you can choose the Position icons as before to set a location for the watermark on the screen.

Step 4: Remove Watermark

Click to select the None radio button next to the Watermark label to get rid of the watermark altogether.

Configure and Use Pointer

Note: The Pointer in SOOMUS can be used in Configuration mode.

Note: The Pointer tool cannot be enabled in the Content only presentation mode.

Step 1: Get to the Configuration Mode

After you have made all the required adjustments in editing mode, click Start Now from the bottom to get to the configuration mode.

Step 2: Enable the Pointer and Choose a Pointer Color

Click Pointer from the lower section of the right pane to enable the pointer in SOOMUS. When enabled, the color of the Pointer button turns Blue. Optionally, you can click the down arrow on the Pointer button, and when the menu appears, click to select a color that you want to use for the annotations. To check, draw something on the Display window while left-clicking the mouse and keeping the button pressed. Notice how the annotation remains on the screen as long as the mouse button is pressed, and disappears instantaneously when it is released.

Step 3: Keep the Annotations on the Screen

Click the down arrow on the Pointer button, and check the keep traces box present at the bottom of the menu. Now try drawing something on the screen, and notice how the annotations stay there.

Note: These annotations are automatically removed when the Pointer tool is disabled.

Step 4: Disable the Pointer

Click the Pointer button again to disable the pointer. You can know that the Pointer has been disabled when the button gets back from Blue to its original color.
